Draftline Terms of Use

By accessing or using Draftline, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Draftline. Privacy practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

1. What Draftline is

Draftline is a floorplan studio and design aid. It helps you explore layouts (for example event or residential concepts) from materials you provide.

Draftline is not:

  • Building-code, fire-code, or life-safety approval.
  • A substitute for an architect, engineer, AHJ, LUGM, fire marshal, or other authority having jurisdiction.
  • A guarantee that any layout is legal, safe, or buildable.

You must verify all plans, capacities, clearances, exits, and life-safety requirements with qualified professionals and the AHJ before use in the real world.

2. Accounts, sandbox, and demos

  • Accounts. If you create or use an account, you are responsible for the accuracy of your information and for keeping credentials confidential.
  • Sandbox / “Try demo”. Demo and sandbox environments are for evaluation. Work may be wiped at any time without notice. Do not rely on sandbox projects as your system of record.
  • Availability. Draftline is provided as an early product. Features may change, break, or be withdrawn. We do not promise uptime SLAs unless we sign a separate written agreement that says so.

3. Your content and uploads

You retain ownership of files and content you upload or create (“Your Content”). You grant Torque a limited license to host, process, display, and back up Your Content solely to operate Draftline for you.

You represent that you have the right to upload Your Content and that it does not infringe others’ rights or violate law. Prefer anonymized venue plans when demonstrating or sharing externally.

We may remove or disable content that appears abusive, unlawful, or harmful to the service.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Draftline for unlawful purposes.
  • Attempt to break into, disrupt, scrape at abusive scale, or reverse engineer the service beyond what law allows.
  • Upload malware or content you do not have rights to use.
  • Misrepresent Draftline output as stamped, permitted, or AHJ-approved plans.
  • Resell access to Draftline without our written permission.

5. Intellectual property

Torque and its licensors own Draftline (software, design, trademarks, and documentation). These Terms do not transfer ownership to you. Feedback you send may be used to improve the product without obligation to you.

6. No professional advice; disclaimer of warranties

Draftline and all output are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

Output may be incomplete, incorrect, or unsuitable for your venue or jurisdiction. You remain solely responsible for decisions that affect people, property, events, or construction.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, QJ LLC d/b/a Torque will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising from your use of Draftline.

Our total liability for any claim related to Draftline will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for Draftline in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100) if you used a free demo or unpaid access.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum allowed by law.

8. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify QJ LLC d/b/a Torque against claims arising from Your Content, your misuse of Draftline, or your failure to obtain required professional or AHJ approvals.

9. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms or the product. Continued use after a posted change means you accept the update. We may suspend or end access (including sandbox wipes) at any time. You may stop using Draftline at any time.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Maryland have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
